VI COMMANDO

Gnr. Leonard Wiggins

Gnr. Leonard Wiggins, formerly of the Royal Artillery, served with No.6 Commando from 1940 until, at least, 6th June 1944 (D-Day).

He was reportedly seriously wounded whilst crossing Sword Beach on D-Day through gunshot wounds to his spine.  Following which he spent many months in hospital in the UK.
